Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment for an artist/teacher of photography to join the Art Field Group. The successful applicant will have an ongoing professional practice, an in-depth knowledge of contemporary art and theory, and will demonstrate excellence in the teaching of photography at the undergraduate level. Course load of five-courses per year will include traditional and digital processes, as well as independent studies and critiques as part of the Art major. Interest in and ability to teach specialized seminars in the broader social and historical dimensions of photography and the photographic image, and to contribute to the ancillary programming connected to the Pitzer Art Galleries is a plus. M.F.A. or terminal degree in a relevant discipline is expected prior to appointment.
