The University of Kansas seeks to fill an open-rank tenure-track position in German intellectual history focusing on the Age of Goethe. Required: (a) Specialization in the intellectual history of the Enlightenment with focus on the Age of Goethe; (b) PhD or ABD in German(ic) studies, comparative literature, or related discipline by date of appointment. Capacity to teach literature in German and English from BA to PhD. Candidate will be asked to include curricular offerings to a broad undergraduate audience meeting requirements in humanities as well as other interdisciplinary programs. Strong research program, demonstrated excellence in teaching. Native or near-native language ability in both German and English. Interdisciplinary interests in history, philosophy, natural sciences, social sciences, and/or digital humanities are pluses.
