Bard College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor to teach modern Middle-Eastern history. The successful candidate will be able to teach survey and advanced courses on the history of the Arab lands since 1800, with the majority of coverage on the twentieth century. Applicants whose research covers the modern Middle East more broadly conceived (including, for example, Ottoman and Turkish history) will be seriously considered as well.
