US South since 1877. The History Department of the University of Mississippi (http://www.olemiss.edu/depts/history) seeks either a tenured associate professor or a tenure-track assistant professor in the History of the United States South since 1877 to begin in August 2013. The teaching load will be two courses per semester. For a tenured appointment, evidence of excellence in teaching, a record of significant peer-reviewed publication (including a monograph), and an ongoing research program are required. For a tenure-track appointment, Ph.D. by the time of appointment and evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship are required.
