The University of California at San Diego, committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body, is pleased to announce the search for a Professor specializing in the study of modern China. The successful candidate will hold the University's Hwei-Chih and Julia Hsiu Endowed Chair in Chinese Studies, along with a tenured appointment in the Department of History. We seek candidates at the Full Professor level, but will also consider advanced Associate Professors. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2013.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong or potential accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego's commitment to achieving excellence and diversity. Proof of authorization to work in the U.S. will be required prior to employment (Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986). Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
