Middle East. The Department of History at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time, three-year position as assistant professor of modern Middle Eastern history to begin fall semester, 2013. Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. by the time of appointment, and offer a range of courses including survey courses, first-year seminars, upper-division courses. Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, c.v., and three letters of recommendation. The Department will begin to review applications by October 25, 2012.
