The History Department of the Catholic University of America seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of the medieval Islamic world. While area and period of specialization are open the department is especially interested in candidates whose research focuses on the Mediterranean and encounters with the West. In addition to training graduate and undergraduate students, the successful candidate will also participate in the Center for Medieval and Byzantine Studies and the Islamic World Studies Program.
