The Canadian-American Center and the Department of History at the University of Maine invite applications for a joint position as tenure-track assistant professor in Canadian history with a specialization in the North Atlantic world. Candidates’ research interests and teaching expertise should complement the History Department’s existing programs in U.S. and European history. Teaching responsibilities include two Canadian Studies courses for the Canadian-American Center, and two undergraduate and graduate level courses for the History Department. The position will eventually involve administrative and grant-writing responsibilities at the Canadian-American Center, for which the teaching load will be adjusted accordingly. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment. Demonstrated scholarship and teaching experience are required, and administrative experience is preferred.
