The Department of History at Boston College invites applications for a historian working in precolonial, colonial, or postcolonial Sub-Saharan Africa. The appointment will be tenure-track and at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will be expected to offer both broad and specialized courses in African history at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to participate in the History Core Program, and teach courses cross-listed with African and African Diaspora Studies. Ph.D required by August 2013. Please submit a letter of application, CV, an article-length writing sample, and at least three letters of reference.
