POSITION: Assistant Professor of History
QUALIFICATIONS: The Department of History seeks a specialist in sub-Saharan African History to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in this area. Applicants should be ABD or hold a Ph.D. in History, and should be able to show evidence of outstanding teaching along with potential for scholarly publication.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to offer survey courses in World History since 1500 as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of specialization. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a productive research program.
RANK AND SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the annual meetings of the African Studies Association and the American Historical Association.
