AFRICAN HISTORY. The departments of Africana Studies and History at Brown University invite applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of African history. Regional, thematic, and chronological specializations are open, but preference may be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests complement the strengths of the departments of Africana Studies and History. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter. Ph.D. or equivalent is required by time of appointment.
