The Department of History at Swarthmore College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in Chinese history (field/period open) to begin August 2013. Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. by the time of appointment, and offer a range of courses including survey courses, first-year seminars, upper-division courses, and advanced seminars in Chinese history, as well as East Asian surveys and transnational/global history courses. The successful applicant is also expected to contribute to the Asian Studies program. Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, c.v., and three letters of recommendation. The Department will begin to review applications by October 15, 2012.
