Executive Director Leo Baeck Institute-NY
The Leo Baeck Institute-NY is the pre-eminent archive of documents,
books, and art of the world’s German speaking Jews, recognized
as such by scholars, governments and government funded organizations.
We are seeking an Executive Director to lead our successful
operations. Responsibilities include managing a staff of
twenty, maintenance of the existing collection, acquiring
new material, and participating in development.
The LBI’s annual operating budget is two million dollars.
The LBI is a partner of the Center for Jewish History, which provides
facilities for speakers, performances and exhibits produced by
the LBI. DigiBaeck, a project to digitize the archive's documents
so they can searched and viewed on line, is nearing completion. The
Executive Director represents the LBI to our friends and supporters
in the US and internationally.
Qualified candidates should be able to document their accomplishments
in a similar position, have a knowledge of German and Jewish
history and culture, as well as a track record of successful
