19th and 20th Century U.S. History: The Lewis and Clark College Department of History invites applications for a one-semester leave replacement in U.S. history for spring semester 2013. Minimum ABD in history with demonstrated potential for excellent teaching at an undergraduate institution required. Course load will consist of three classes: the nineteenth century survey as well as two classes (a 200-level class and an upper-level reading colloquium) in the applicant’s field of specialization. This half-time position includes benefits. Review of applications will begin on July 1, 2012 and continue until the position is filled. A complete application must include (1) a curriculum vita; (2) a letter of application that explains the candidate’s educational philosophy, teaching experience, and research interests; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) three letters of recommendation to be emailed by the recommender; and (5) graduate transcripts.
