Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for 50/50 tenure-track joint appointment in the Department of History and Department of Women’s Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will commence on August 1, 2012. Applicants must have a specialization in feminist and transnational studies and non-Western history, with preference given to African, Middle Eastern or East Asian specialists. A completed PhD in History at the time of appointment and a strong background in Women’s Studies theory and methods are required.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach in a range of areas from both disciplines and to participate actively in graduate, as well as undergraduate, teaching in both units. The incumbent will be required to develop a strong interdisciplinary research program, and to contribute to departmental and university-wide service.
