The History Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at American
University invites applications for a tenure-line Assistant Professorship in Russian History in the late imperial era who will also be the Director of American University’s Initiative on Russian Culture. We are seeking applicants with demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching who will have completed their Ph.D. prior to August, 2012. The ideal candidate will be prepared to teach, advise, and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and will also have relevant administrative experience, especially in cultural arts programming.
