The Department of History in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Avila University invites applications for a tenure-track position in United States history at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August 15, 2012. Teaching responsibilities include entry-level surveys of United States history, advanced courses across the spectrum of United States history, and interdisciplinary contributions to the core curriculum. Candidates with the ability to teach gender history, Latin American, or transnational approaches to United States history are strongly encouraged to apply.
Teaching experience is preferred, and commitment to providing excellent undergraduate education is required. PhD in History required by date of appointment. Screening of applications will begin on March 15th, 2012, and continue until the position is filled.
