The Department of History of the University of New Orleans invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in Atlantic World history to begin August 2012. The department seeks a specialist in the transfer and adaptation of European institutions in the Colonial Western Hemisphere in the 16th-18th centuries. The appointee will teach three courses per semester, including the U.S. survey until the Civil War, with at least one course in the candidate’s field of specialization per semester. Candidates should have completed a PhD and have teaching experience. Experience will determine salary. All advertised positions at UNO are subject to available funding and System approval.
