United States, 20th Century. The Department of History of the University of Nebraska at Omaha seeks applicants for a historian of the United States, whose work focuses on the 20th century. This is a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, to begin in August 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching nine hours each semester, including up to two sections of World Civilizations, depending on department needs; for maintaining a program of research and publication; and for supporting the M.A. program. The dissertation and all other work for a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field must be completed and approved by Jan. 10, 2012, when review of applications will begin. The position will remain open until filled. The university and department have a strong commitment to achieving diversity among faculty and staff.
