Applications are being accepted for an Assistant Professor appointment to begin in August 2012. Specialization is open, including transnational global themes. Ph.D. in history is preferred; consideration will be given to ABD applicants sufficiently advanced in their thesis work. The successful candidate must be able to teach the world history survey, upper-level courses in some subfield of world history, and interdisciplinary liberal arts seminars. Secondary teacher certification in history or background in training secondary-level history teachers is a plus, as well as ability to teach a world language.
The standard teaching load in the department is four courses - 12 hours per semester.
