|Institution Type:||College / University|
|Location:||Virginia, United States|
The George Mason University, Cultural Studies Program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a proven record of research and publication to teach in what is primarily a doctoral program (significant experience preferred) to start fall 2012.
In addition to the one upper-level undergraduate course we offer, Culture and Globalization, the successful candidate would be expected to teach at least one of our required doctoral courses (see http://culturalstudies.gmu.edu/curriculum.html for curriculum details); teach graduate seminars in his or her field of research; and sit on students' field and dissertation committees.
Areas of specialization are open, but we have abiding needs in the areas of race and ethnicity, visual culture and political economy. We encourage potential applicants to familiarize themselves with our doctoral curriculum before applying. A Ph.D. is required by start of appointment.
All applications must be submitted by November 15, 2011. For full consideration, apply for position F9066z at http://jobs.gmu.edu/; complete the online faculty application; and upload a letter of interest, CV, and the names of four references with contact information. EOE
