The Department of Africana Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) OR Associate Professor (with tenure consideration) in the field of African and African Diaspora History, to begin September 1, 2012.
Qualifications: candidates must have a PhD in African History in hand and a demonstrable research or teaching interest in the transatlantic African Diaspora. A strong record of professional, creative and scholarly productivity (evidenced by a dossier of sample writings) is required. Applicants should submit online a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, and at least three recommendations from persons competent to evaluate his or her scholarship, teaching, and service, along with a dossier and a brief personal and research statement. The review of applications will begin on December 16, 2011 and will continue until the position is filled.
