Assistant Professor – World History
Applications are being accepted for a tenure-track appointment to begin in August 2012. Specialization is open, including transnational global themes, except for Latin America and Modern East Asia. Responsibilities may include participation in revising the world history curriculum. Secondary teacher certification in history or background in training secondary-level history teachers is a plus. Ph.D. in history is preferred; consideration will be given to ABD applicants sufficiently advanced in their thesis work. The successful candidate must be able to teach the world history survey, upper-level and graduate courses in some subfield of world history, and one or both halves of the U.S. history survey. The standard teaching load in the department is 12 hours per semester, nine of which are usually surveys.
