Assistant Professor of History, Modern Europe/World (full-time, tenure track)

Modern Europe/World. Entry-level, assistant professor, tenure-track position. Teaching duties include upper division European history courses since 1789; courses in the candidate’s area of expertise; the global history survey; and participation in the Lasallian Core Traditions part of the general education program. Candidates will also rotate teaching the department’s methodology and research and writing courses. Ability to teach a course in non-European history, particularly Latin America or Middle East, but excluding China, is highly desirable. Normal course load is 4/4. Ph.D. is required by August 2012. The ability to engage in the many teaching responsibilities of the History department is important; experience with teaching diverse populations is desirable. The successful candidate must be able to respect and advance the mission of Saint Mary's University as a LaSallian and Catholic institution.
