Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position available beginning August 2012. Candidate must able to teach American history, the American history survey as well as upper class electives in seventeenth and eighteenth century America including Seventeenth Century Anglo-American and Provincial and Revolutionary American history. The candidate will also be expected to teach a graduate readings course in America History from the Sixteenth Century to 1815. Candidate will be expected to participate in department, school, and university service. Required: ABD in American Colonial History as well as a demonstrated ability to teach the American history survey. Ph.D. required by time of reappointment to the second year. Must have: expertise in Seventeenth Century Anglo-American and Provincial and Revolutionary American history; a successful interview and teaching demonstration; and a commitment to working with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Preferred: Ph.D. in American Colonial History. Evidence of: the ability to teach a graduate readings course in American History from the Sixteenth Century to 1815; teaching experience.
