The IMT Institute for Advanced Studies Lucca invites applications for two Post-Doctoral Fellow positions in Art History:
Post-Doctoral Fellow in Art History: Images, Visions and Reactions
Areas of interest in Art History, Cognitive Psychology, Neuroesthetics, Aesthetics and Philosophy. Candidates with a Ph.D. in a related field with special emphasis on Art History and Cultural Heritage are preferable. Candidates should have a significant record of publications and research activity related to Art History, Modes of Vision and Aesthetics.
Post-Doctoral Fellow in Art History: Images and Motion
Areas of interest in Art History, History of Cinema, Museology, Media Studies, History of science, Cognitive Psychology, Aesthetics and Philosophy. Candidates with a Ph.D. in a related field with special emphasis on Art History are preferable. Candidates should have a significant record of publications and research activity related to Art.
For both positions, candidates should have a goal-oriented approach, the ability to interact with non-academic institutions or companies and the capacity to generate partnerships and external funding.
IMT Lucca (http://www.imtlucca.it) is a public international Graduate School and Institute of Technology that acts as a research university with the aim of forming human capital in disciplines characterized by their high potential for concrete applications. IMT strives to reach the fusion of theoretical comprehension and practical relevance.
Both Post-Doctoral Fellows will be a part of the Research Unit "Center for the interdisciplinary Analysis of Images. Objects, Spaces, Images: individual Experience and social Behaviors" (LYNX, http://www.imtlucca.it/research/research_units.php) and will perform research, tutorship and mentoring of Ph.D. students, limited teaching of graduate courses and participation in the development of the research activities of the Institute.
Appointment compensation packages will depend on the candidates and their records of accomplishment, but are competitive on an international level. Applicants must be able to teach graduate courses in English; knowledge of Italian is not required.
