The Department of History at Sam Houston State University is conducting a search for a United States historian, tenure-track, field open. Particular interests of the department for this position include Native American, ethnic, immigration, military, Texas, religious, and digital history, but strong candidates from all fields will be considered. Applicants should have Ph.D. in hand by August 2012. Sam Houston State University is located in historic Huntsville, sixty minutes north of downtown Houston and thirty minutes north of The Woodlands. SHSU has an enrollment of over 17,000 students and is one of the most rapidly growing universities in Texas.
