The History Department at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in 20th Century African-American and African Diaspora History to begin August 2012. Secondary field is open; ability to engage slavery is desirable. Successful candidate is expected to play a vital part in a strong graduate program with a concentration in Policy History, including the development of graduate courses in areas of expertise. Applicants should also be prepared to contribute to a robust undergraduate program, teaching surveys and more specialized upper-division courses, developing new courses and contributing to Africana and other relevant interdisciplinary programs. PhD required, teaching experience expected, and publications highly desirable. Salary is competitive with peer institutions level for rank and position and in keeping with candidate experience and credentials.
