Assistant Professor, 20th Century U.S. History: U.S. as a World Power

The History Department at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in 20^th Century U.S. History to begin August 2012. Expertise in the United States’ role as a world power expected, inclusive of research interests and ability to teach courses in diplomacy, conflict resolution, and the major military campaigns of the 20^th century. Successful candidates are expected to play a vital part in a strong graduate program with a concentration in Policy History, including the development of graduate courses. Candidates should also be prepared to contribute to a robust undergraduate program, teaching surveys and more specialized upper-division courses, developing new courses, and contributing to relevant interdisciplinary programs. PhD required, teaching experience expected, and publications highly desirable. Salary is competitive with peer institutions of rank and position and according to the candidate’s experience and credentials.
