Modern France: The Department of History at Northern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Modern French history (1789 to the present) beginning Fall 2012, subject to budgetary approval. Teaching responsibilities include survey courses in European and/or Global history as well as upper-level undergraduate courses and graduate seminars in Modern French and European history and areas of thematic specialization. Please send a letter of application (including a description of research and teaching interests), c.v., graduate transcript(s), three letters of recommendation and a chapter-length writing sample to Sean Farrell, Chair, Modern French History Search Committee, Department of History, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL 60115.
