The Department of History at the College of William & Mary invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the history of the Middle East since 1600, specializing in any region from Morocco to Iran, excluding Anatolia. The appointment would begin August 2012. Applicants are expected to hold the Ph.D. by the time of appointment and have competency in at least one Middle Eastern language. Ability to teach Modern Middle Eastern History and Global History required. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach occasional graduate seminarsin comparative/transnational history.
