The Department of History at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the tenure track position of Assistant Professor of History, Colonial America.
Primary Job Duties: Scholar-teacher of Colonial American History.Field of specialization is open, but ideal candidates will complement existing strengths of the department. A subfield in Native American history is desired; the ability to teach African American history is a plus. Teaching responsibilities include World Civilizations and U.S surveysand upper division courses. Teaching load is 3-3.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in History. If ABD; would be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the expectation that candidate complete doctoral degree in a timely manner.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Candidates must demonstrate an effective teaching style that supports a diverse student body.

The department intends to conduct preliminary interviews at the AHA annual meeting. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be contingent upon verification of eligibility to work in the U.S.
