The Harold Schnitzer Family Program in Judaic Studies at Portland State University invites applications for the Rabbi Joshua Stampfer Professorship in Israel Studies, a tenure-track assistant professorship to begin in fall 2012. Specialization is open and PhD required. The successful candidate will bring intellectual passion and scholarly expertise in Israeli history, culture, society, philosophy, and/or politics within the wider contexts of Jewish history and civilization; add curricular strength to a growing Judaic Studies program; and enjoy interacting professionally with a diverse range of students, academic programs, and community groups.
