Medieval and Early Modern Continental Europe

 The Alma College History Department invites applications for a full-time one-year visiting instructor position beginning August 2011.  Position is provisional pending final administrative approval.  Candidates should be broadly trained in European history with a specialty in Medieval or Early Modern Continental Europe, with expertise and interest in teaching the other field. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have completed the PhD by August 2011; experience in undergraduate teaching is highly desirable.

The instructional load will include survey courses in world and European history and upper-level courses in areas of specialization.  Candidates must be committed to undergraduate learning and research at a selective Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts institution.
