Assistant Professor in Medieval/Early Modern European Jewish History
The Department of History and the graduate programs in Judaic Studies at Towson University invite applications for a full time, tenure-track assistant professorship in medieval or early modern European Jewish History. ABDs may apply, but a Ph.D. in History is required when position commences in August 2011. Teaching load is 3/3 during the first three years, based on research record thereafter. Candidates should also be prepared to teach graduate surveys in Medieval Jewish History and Early Modern Jewish History, and history seminars. In addition, candidates will advise Masters theses and PhD dissertations in European Jewish History. The History Department in conjunction with Judaic Studies will determine the mix of undergraduate and graduate courses, and advising duties. Applicants must possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and show potential for a productive scholarly program.
