The Department of History and Geography at Columbus State University invites applications for a tenure track position in United States History with expertise in the Revolutionary Era or the Early National period. Preference will be given candidates with expertise in Native American or Gender History. The successful candidate will teach the U.S. History survey and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in area of expertise. An active research agenda leading to publication, participation in departmental programs and community engagement is also expected. The starting date is August 2011 contingent upon state funding.

A Ph.D. in History and university teaching experience is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for continued professional development, scholarship and community engagement. A successful criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
