Salve Regina University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professorship in Early American History (1600-1820) to begin in September 2011. Teaching duties include introductory and upper-level classes in History and occasional courses in American Studies. A secondary field in Latin America, the Atlantic World or Medieval Europe is desired. The successful candidate will be committed to undergraduate teaching and scholarship, enthusiastic about utilizing Newport's many historical resources and supportive of the University's Catholic, Mercy mission. Teaching load is 3/4.
Ph.D in history is required by the start date.
