The Department of History, Politics, and International Relations at Webster University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Early Modern European History, with a subspecialty in a non-European field, to begin August 2011. The department seeks an effective teacher/scholar who can offer a variety of lower-level and upper-level undergraduate courses. Possible areas of focus include: imperialism, mercantilism, the Atlantic World, the Islamic World, migration, diplomacy, gender and the family, or intellectual history. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment is preferred, but strong ABD candidates will be considered. Applications must be received by December 3, 2010. Preliminary interviews will take place at the American Historical Association Conference in Boston from January 6-9, 2011. Applicants should provide a letter of interest and c.v.
