The Department of History, Politics, and International Relations at Webster University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Early Modern European History, with a subspecialty in a non-European field, to begin August 2011. The department seeks an effective teacher/scholar who can offer a variety of lower-level and upper-level undergraduate courses. Possible areas of focus include: imperialism, mercantilism, the Atlantic World, the Islamic World, migration, diplomacy, gender and the family, or intellectual history. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment is preferred, but strong ABD candidates will be considered. Applications must be received by December 3, 2010.
