The History Department at Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in 20th century continental European history beginning fall 2011. Competence to teach in the Development of Western Civilization program is required. Specialization in fields of Mediterranean history, the history of the EU, or German history preferred. Ph.D. (by date of appointment) required. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, the ability to establish a scholarly research plan, and a willingness to be active in service to the college and community.
