The History Department at Providence College, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Colonial American and Atlantic World history beginning fall 2011. Specialization in ethnic or immigration history, religious history, or political history desirable. Competence to teach in the Development of Western Civilization program and the American surveys is required. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in history (by time of appointment) and demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, the ability to establish a scholarly research program, and a willingness to be active in service to the college and community.
