Mary Baldwin College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in early American history (1600-1820) to begin August 2011. Secondary field in Virginia history, American religious history, American West, or Appalachian history desired. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and research, as well as enthusiasm for the environment of a small liberal arts college and for online teaching in a vibrant regional program for working adults. Ph.D. completion required by start date.
Located in the historic arts community of Staunton, Virginia, in the Shenandoah Valley, Mary Baldwin College provides personalized, transformative education in the residential college for women and the co-ed adult programs.
