The Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage in the Department of Classics and Letters at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 2011. The applicant should have a speciality in American intellectual history, political culture, or political theory of the 19th or early 20th century with consequences for our understanding of American constitutionalism. Evidence of outstanding teaching and research potential is required. Teaching responsibilities will include four courses per year. The IACH is an interdisciplinary center for the study of the U.S. Constitution from legal, historical, and theoretical perspectives.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, three letters of reference, transcripts, a writing sample (chapter or article), and a list of courses reflecting the applicant’s teaching aspirations.
