U.S. Women’s and Gender History. As part of its ongoing commitment to leadership in women’s history, the History Department at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, is pleased to invite applications in the field of U.S. Women’s and Gender History, rank and field open, for a position to begin in July 2011, subject to the availability of funds. This position is the first of four that the department will fill in several areas of women’s history in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. The successful candidate will join a vibrant department deeply committed to the historical study of gender and its role in shaping the world we now live in. S/he will be expected to contribute broadly conceived courses at the undergraduate level and to be actively involved in the training and mentoring of graduate students. Area of specialization for teaching and research is open. Review of applications will begin on Nov. 1 and continue until the position is filled.
