19th Century Continental European History. The Department of History at the University of California, Davis, seeks to hire an historian of nineteenth-century Europe. The appointment is for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. Applicants should possess specialist credentials in such research subjects as European political, economic or social history, comparative or transnational European history, and/or European (including Russian) empires. Competence to teach upper-division courses on modern Western and Eastern European history is essential. Ability to teach a survey of World History is desirable. Applicants must complete the PhD by July 1, 2011.
