The History Department of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Latin American History, beginning August 2011. Area of specialization is open. Teaching responsibilities include upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in specialty, a two-semester survey of Global History Since 1500, and participation in the university’s Latin American Studies Minor. Strong commitment to teaching and scholarship is required. Candidates must have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment. Salary competitive. A comprehensive university situated in the historic port city of Wilmington, UNCW enrolls approximately 12,000 students and offers the opportunity to specialize in Latin American History within the global track at the M.A. level. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the annual meeting of the AHA.
