The history department at Wheaton College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in modern European history beginning August 2011. A Ph.D. is required. The ideal candidate will have expertise in modern Europe (specific fields/countries open), as well as a willingness to support the department’s general education program in world history. Responsibilities include teaching both survey and specialized courses in modern European history and participating in world history general education. Wheaton seeks a gifted teacher/scholar, who shares the ideals of Christian liberal arts education and can communicate a love for history to bright, motivated undergraduates. The successful candidate will have evidence of potential in teaching, research, and publication, as well as general administrative skills.
