Modern U.S. Texas A&M University-Commerce invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor to begin August 2010. Specialization in modern U.S. History required, any subfield or regional focus. Preference given to applicants whose areas of expertise do not duplicate those in the History Department. Ph.D. required by time of appointment. Responsibilities include teaching introductory U.S. survey courses as well as upper-division and graduate courses in modern U.S. history. Previous college-level teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities also include undergraduate advising; experience with student advising is preferred. Applicants must be committed to high-quality teaching, high-quality scholarly endeavors, and service to the profession, university, and community. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Texas A&M University-Commerce is a senior public institution with an academic enrollment of approximately 9000 students.
