The Department of History & Anthropology at the University of Central Missouri invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in 19th Century American History beginning August 2010. The successful candidate must be committed to undergraduate teaching with a record of success in the classroom and evidence of scholarly promise. The candidate will teach the US history surveys as well as courses from the 1820s to 1877 especially, but not limited to, Jacksonian America and Civil War & Reconstruction. A teaching field in military history or 20th century Europe is desirable as well as the ability or willingness to teach online. A Ph.D. is required or one in hand by August 1, 2010.
