Tenure-track assistant to associate professor of U.S. History, 1900 to 1945. Requirements: Expertise in early twentieth century as demonstrated by dissertation work and/or research and publications; college-level teaching or lecturing experience; Ph.D. in History in hand by appointment date. Preference will be given to candidates who complement specializations within the department. The successful applicant will be expected to teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in her/his specialty as well as freshman survey courses in U.S. History. The appointee will be expected to be active in the development of departmental programs and governance and maintain active research and professional development programs. To be eligible for hire at the associate professor rank, candidate must meet the requirements for that rank as established by the department. Appointment date for the position is 15 Aug. 2010. Salary commensurate with experience. The position will remain open until filled; full consideration will be given to candidates whose applications are complete by 30 Oct. 2009, when evaluations will begin.
