Early American History. The Department of History at Colby College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Early American history at the rank of assistant professor, beginning September 1, 2010. Ph.D. required. The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, a commitment to liberal arts education, and a vital research program. Annual teaching load is five courses, including a survey of early American history during the fall term. Area of specialization is open. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2009 and will continue until the position is filled. Interviews will be conducted at the AHA conference in San Diego.
